We the People, a bay son of Constitution, enters from a romping 10 1/4-length score in the nine-furlong Grade 3 Peter Pan on May 14 at Belmont.
The Peter Pan, the traditional local prep race for the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets, has seen multiple horses go on to capture the ‘Test of the Champion’ following a Peter Pan coup including Tonalist , A.P. Indy , Danzig Connection  and Coastal .
Trained by Rodolphe Brisset, We the People was an open-lengths winner of his first two career starts, both at Oaklawn Park, capturing a one-mile maiden special weight in February and a 1 1/16-mile optional-claimer in March. He finished off-the-board in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby before re-grouping with his statement score in the Peter Pan.
Jockey Flavien Prat has won two-thirds of the Triple Crown races, taking the 2019 Kentucky Derby, via disqualification, with Country House and the 2021 Preakness aboard Rombauer. Prat guided Hot Rod Charlie to a runner-up effort in last year's Belmont Stakes.
