Nest, a bay daughter of Curlin trained by Hall of Famer Todd Pletcher, enters from a runner-up effort to Secret Oath in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks on May 6 at Churchill Downs. She will look to become the fourth filly to win the Belmont Stakes following Ruthless [1867], Tanya [1905], and Rags to Riches, who won for Pletcher in 2007.
A maiden winner at Belmont in September, Nest put together a trio of stakes wins from December-to-April, taking the Grade 2 Demoiselle at Aqueduct, the Suncoast at Tampa Bay Downs and the Grade 1 Ashland at Keeneland.
Out of the stakes-winning A.P. Indy mare Marion Ravenwood, Nest is a full sibling to Grade 1-winner Idol. Nest was purchased for $350,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
