​NYRA announces series of job fairs for Belmont Stakes Racing Festival

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced a series of jobs fairs to fill temporary employment positions in support of the 2022 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, which will take place at Belmont Park from Thursday, June 9 to Saturday, June 11.

NYRA is seeking applicants ready to serve fans from around the world during the three-day racing festival, which culminates with the 154th running of the Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets on Saturday, June 11.

To fill the approximately 700 temporary positions required to support the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival operation, NYRA will be hosting job fairs at Belmont Park from May 12 to May 14 to hire betting clerks, white caps, cashiers, hospitality team members, ticket scanners, program sellers, ushers and supervisors.

Betting clerks and cashiers must be at least 18 years of age, present a current resume and have a minimum of three years of cash-handling experience.

The job fairs, in order:

  • From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 at Belmont Park, Turf and Field Club (fourth floor) of the Clubhouse. Job fair attendees should enter Belmont Park through Gate 5 (off Hempstead Turnpike), park in the Silver A & B lot and enter through the main Clubhouse entrance.
  • From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 13 at Belmont Park, Turf and Field Club (fourth floor) of the Clubhouse. Job fair attendees should enter Belmont Park through Gate 5 (off Hempstead Turnpike), park in the Silver A & b lot and enter through the main Clubhouse entrance.
  • From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at Belmont Park, Garden Terrace (fourth floor) of the Clubhouse. Job fair attendees should enter Belmont Park through Gate 5 (off Hempstead Turnpike), park in the Silver A & B lot and enter through the main Clubhouse entrance.

Belmont Park is at 2150 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont.

Directions are by car: Cross Island Parkway, Exit 26B (traveling south) and Exit 26B (traveling north); and by railroad: via the LIRR from Jamaica, Woodside or Penn Station).

Applicants for positions, other than betting clerks and admission cashiers, must be at least 16 years of age with original working papers and have with them two forms of identification (I-9 appropriate).
