Conquistador Cielo - 1982 Belmont Stakes
In an unusual training move, Woody Stephens ran Conquistador Cielo in the Met Mile against older horses a week before the Belmont Stakes. He won both - the first by 7 ½ lengths in track record time and the second, six days later, by 14 lengths. It was the first of five straight Belmonts for Stephens.
